Packaging elements (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children, as they are a potential source of danger. Although this manual has been prepared with great care, some inaccuracies may still be present. If you notice any, please inform us so that we can correct them in future editions.

1. PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION

The boiler is designed for heating water to a temperature not exceeding the boiling point at atmospheric pressure. It is connected to the heating system and the domestic hot water system in accordance with its specifications and capacity. The boiler must be installed by a qualified technician.

Before installing the boiler, it is necessary to:

a) Check that the boiler is set to operate with the specific type of gas to be used. This information is indicated on the packaging and on the boiler's factory plate (nameplate).

❗👉➨ b) Ensure that the chimney has sufficient draught, that there are no constrictions, and that no foreign combustion products are entering, except in cases where the chimney is specifically designed to serve multiple appliances.

c) When connecting the flue outlet pipe to an existing chimney, ensure that the chimney is completely cleaned, as soot particles may detach from the chimney walls during boiler operation and block the flue gas outlet, thus creating a hazardous situation.

d) Furthermore, to maintain the warranty on the appliance and to ensure its proper functioning, the following precautions must be observed:

1. Domestic Hot Water (DHW) Circuit:

1.1 If the water hardness exceeds 20° F (where 1° F = 10 mg CaCO? per 1 liter of water), a polyphosphate dispenser or a similar water softening system (magnetic or electromagnetic converter) should be installed.

1.2 Thoroughly flush the equipment after installation and before starting operation.

1.3 For reliable operation and ease of maintenance, it is strongly recommended to install a shut-off valve with a filter on the cold water inlet pipe.

2. Heating Circuit

2.1 New equipment:

Before installing the boiler, the heating system must be pre-cleaned to remove any possible deposits or contamination, using commercially available cleaning agents. The cleaning agents used must not contain concentrated acids or alkalis that can corrode metal and damage plastic and rubber components (for example, SENTINEL X300 or X400 and FERNOX Regenerator for heating systems). When using cleaning agents, it is necessary to strictly follow the instructions for their use.

2.2 Equipment in operation:

Before installing the boiler, the heating system must be pre-cleaned from dirt and deposits using commercially available cleaning agents (see item 2.1).

To protect the system from scale formation, corrosion inhibitors such as SENTINEL X100 and FERNOX Protector for heating systems must be used. When using these agents, it is necessary to strictly follow the instructions for their use.

Please note that the presence of deposits in the heating system leads to boiler malfunctions (overheating, burner noise, etc.).

2.3 It is recommended to install shut-off valves on the supply and return pipes of the heating system, as well as a filter on the return pipe.

❗👉➨ Failure to comply with these recommendations will void the warranty for the appliance.

2. PREPARATION FOR FIRST START-UP

The first start-up of the boiler must be carried out by a qualified technician. It is necessary to ensure the following:

a) The boiler parameters for electrical power supply, water, and gas correspond to the existing power, water, and gas supply systems.

b) The installation has been carried out in compliance with the applicable regulations.

c) The appliance is correctly connected to the power supply and grounded.

Failure to comply with the above requirements will void the manufacturer’s warranty. Before the first start-up, remove the protective polyethylene film from the boiler. To avoid damaging the painted surfaces, do not use hard tools or abrasive detergents during cleaning and washing.

❗👉➨ The appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical or mental capabilities, or by individuals lacking sufficient knowledge and experience in operating the appliance. Such use is only permitted under the supervision of a person responsible for their safety. Do not allow children to play near the appliance.

3. BOILER START-UP

Warranty obligations are fulfilled by the organization that carried out the first start-up of the boiler. This organization must have the licenses required by law. The warranty period begins from the date of the first start-up. For the first start-up and subsequent servicing of the boiler, we recommend that you contact authorized BAXI service centers. The addresses and telephone numbers of service centers can be obtained from the sales organization.

Given the local conditions and the parameters of the power, gas, and water supply systems, the servicing organization has the right to require the installation of additional equipment (voltage stabilizer, water softener, etc.).

For correct ignition of the burner, it is necessary to:
➠ connect the boiler to the power supply
➠ open the gas valve
➠ press the button on the removable digital panel for at least 2 seconds to set the boiler’s operating mode (see paragraph 3.2).

❗👉➨ Note: When the SUMMER mode () is selected, the boiler operates only for the production of domestic hot water.

➠ set the desired temperature values for the heating and DHW systems using the +/- buttons (see section 4).

❗👉➨ If a remote control device (optional) is connected to the appliance, it can also be used to start the boiler (see the instruction manual supplied with the device).

3.1 Meaning of the Symbol

During boiler operation, depending on the flame modulation level, the display on the control panel may show four different boiler power levels (see Fig. 2).

3.2 Description of the Button (Summer – Winter – Heating Only – Off)

By pressing this button, the following boiler operating modes can be selected:

➠ SUMMER
➠ WINTER
➠ HEATING ONLY
➠ OFF

When the boiler operates in SUMMER mode, the symbol appears on the display. The boiler operates only for the production of domestic hot water (the “frost protection” function remains active).

When the boiler operates in WINTER mode, the symbols and appear on the display. The boiler operates for both heating and domestic hot water production (the “frost protection” function remains active).

When the boiler operates in HEATING ONLY mode, the symbol appears on the display. The boiler operates only for the heating system (the “frost protection” function remains active).

When in OFF mode, both symbols and are absent from the display. The boiler is not operating; only the “frost protection” function remains active.

4. Adjustment of Room Temperature and Domestic Hot Water Temperature

The adjustment of room temperature () and domestic hot water temperature () is carried out using the +/- buttons (see Fig. 1).

The presence of flame on the burner is shown on the display by the symbol ().

HEATING SYSTEM

A room thermostat must be installed in the system (see the relevant instructions). During boiler operation in heating mode, the display shows the flashing symbol () and the heating system water temperature (°C).

DHW SYSTEM

During boiler operation in the DHW mode, the display shows the flashing symbol () and the DHW system water temperature (°C).

There are two quick settings available – ECO and COMFORT.

To adjust the temperature, proceed as follows:

ECO

The ECO setting allows the user to quickly set the domestic hot water temperature by pressing the P button. When the ECO function is activated, “eco” appears on the display. To set the temperature in ECO mode, use the +/- buttons .

COMFORT

The COMFORT setting allows the user to quickly set the domestic hot water temperature by pressing the P button. To set the temperature in COMFORT mode, use the +/- buttons .

❗👉➨ NOTE: When a storage water heater is connected, during boiler operation in the DHW mode, the display shows the symbol () and the water temperature in the storage water heater.
